An extensive selection of both large canvas and smaller pieces of Casey's art will be on display during the opening reception. This work can also be viewed by appointment during the duration of the exhibit--through March 22, 2010.

Based at the Petaluma Municipal Airport, Airport Muse provides fine art events for airports locating fine artists and live entertainers and identifying sponsorship for these events.

The opening reception on February 26 will feature an opportunity to meet spray paint artist Casey White, live entertainment by saxophonist Marshall Farrell and many raffle prizes, proceeds benefiting the Petaluma Arts Council and the Western Horizon Flight Museum.

An introductory flight lesson in a Robinson R-44 Helicopter, which includes an hour or so of ground school and an exhilarating demo flight viewing the renowned Infinion Raceway while you operate the controls and discover how the aircraft actually feels in your hands courtesy of HeloVenture;

A framed print of the Sikorsky S-42 over Bay Bridge under Construction. On April 15, 1935, Captain Ed Musak flew Pan American Clipper the S-42 to conduct the first survey flight to Hawaii. This Black and White photo that captured this historical event was taken by the famous aerial photographer Clyde Sunderland. Mr. Sunderland is known for his beautiful images of all the Pan American Clippers as well as Amelia Earhart, The Golden Gate Bridge under construction and the 7th fleet to include the USS Arizona prior to Pearl Harbor. This reproduction is produced from the negative displaying the details of the plane, the Bay Bridge and Yurba Buena Island before Treasure Island, courtesy of Pacific Aerial Surveys;

Free To First Registered Attendees

While you can attend the event for free without registering, please register for the event if you are planning to attend--there is no charge and it will help us with event planning to know that you are coming. The first 10 people to register will receive a complimentary copy of the very first edition of the the North Atlantic Oceanic Planning Chart (OPC 1) which will be used in conjunction with Art Hayssen.

We are currently looking for enthusiastic individuals to help us with gallery sales. These will be part time positions on Fridays or Saturdays at the gallery. If you are interested, please contact us .

Future Events

The next Opening Reception is scheduled for Saturday April 17 and will feature photography created by participants in a workshop organized by AirportMuse. The workshop will take place March 27 with modelling sessions pairing photographers with models on March 28, April 3 and April 4.

If you're coming from out of town, you may wish to budget some time to enjoy historic Petaluma. Additional information about Petaluma is available from the Petaluma Visitor Center .

If you enjoy beer, you may wish to take a tour of the Lagunitas Brewing Company located right in Petaluma not far from the airport. Lagunitas is a sponsor of the event and will be providing their India Pale Ale for attendees of the event.
